Big Trek purchase
I think it might be a 1980ish Trek 413 or 413.
Its part of the purchase for giving away project wallet depletion but I don’t think it will work for those purposes. Couldn’t pass up the bargain though.
And as much as enjoyed riding around on it a bit, I was a bit afraid of top tube to groin catastrophes.
Not sure what to do with it...
Sun Tour ARX-AR combo, Super Custom CS, mismatched wheels, Weinmann crazy calipers and low end SR Laprade. Think that makes it the 412-413 series.

It is probably from 1982 or later because the TREK lettering on the seat tube has the colorwrap behind. Probably '83 because of the under-BB cable routing, which is present in the '83 catalog and not the '82. Graphics changed in '84 catalog so it's not later than '83.
What does the Reynolds sticker say? 531 or 501? The '83 500 came with 501 so that would be a match. Components are a match, save the brakes and pedals. Does it have dropout adjuster screws? Also take a look at the serial number for us, just to double check. Or decode it yourself, here.

Not sure how I missed that. Oddly has Weinmann 605 brakes and the SR pedals above.

From what I hear, many midrange Treks from the early '80s came with different components than what was listed in the catalog. For the pedals, a savvy owner could have swapped them out because those SP-11s work better with wide feet and sneakers or sandals. As for the brakes, it's a bit of a mystery because Weinmann and Dia Compe were practically identical. Maybe just the aforementioned Trek variability, or some bike shop shenanigans before sale.
