I was mostly referring to the comments but this site has a history of playing up every altercation/crime that occurs on a bike path. IMO, this only feeds the flames of intolerance towards homeless and/or mentally ill people.

Riding a bike at 20 mph and being checked into the railing? And not wearing hockey gear? Not my idea of fun. Do that much damage to another person in any other (non-sport) setting and you will be up for assault.
