Time to buy some winter cycling boots. I'm looking at the Northwave Kingrock Plus GTX. When buying these shoes (or any brand) should I buy one size up, generally? Can anyone recommend any other brands/boots to buy? I'm ok spending $200-250 on a pair and would like shoes to keep my feet warm from like +5 degrees (Celsius) to -10.

I just purchased a pair of Northwave Celsius XC Arctic boots - their website actually has a good sizing wizard. I used that to find the upper end of my optimal size, then went up 1/2 size more since my foot is a little wide, and I wanted to make sure I could wear my Defeet wool socks. They came in and fit very well with my Wooly Boolies.

I have Kingrock GTX and I definitely advice to size up. I normally wear EU size 43 and those boots are narrow and snug fitting, they were fine down to 6-7 celsius, below that temperature my feet were freezing. Got another pair - size 44 and they are much better, more room inside which doesnt restrict blood flow.

wow, so your feet were only warm down to 6 or 7 celsius?? that's not good. hmm

Unfortunately yes, I believe that was mainly because of the too snug fit - I couldnt use warmer socks and blood circulation was not good as well; cant comment yet how the bigger size boots will perform, there is too much snow right now, once that will melt I will get out to test them.

Short update on Kingrock boots: today decided that a little snow isnt an obstacle and went out to test the boots. Tempereature was between -5 and -2 Celsius, I had thin summer socks and boots were fine for whole 1 and 1/2 hour ride, no cold feet anymore. Here is picture of what it look like today:
