1969 Schwinn World Sport mens bike
I am interested in selling this bike but I need info on it first. Can someone please tell me what it's worth. It was made in Chicago in March of 1969. It is in very good and rideable condition. It is definitely vintage but I am not sure if it is worth anything. Thanks.

Schwinn's first World Sport was produced in 1979, ten years later. It was a heavy, basic, imported model back then. Not a lot of value there, and condition is everything. They switched to cromoly main tubes in 1983/1984 which made the bike somewhat better. By the late 1980s, it was quite a bit better.

I'm pretty sure that all the World Sport bikes were outsourced by Schwinn and produced by Giant in Taiwan. They were generally decent bikes that always had good frames from the start and, by the end of the run (in the late 80's) also had very nice alloy wheels. A good basic entry level bike. In fine condition can be worth around $100.

In my market at least, $100 would optimistic. Schwinns have some cachet, but these mid level road bikes just aren’t in demand. People who want something to get around town tend to prefer MTBs or hybrids, and the ones who want vintage road bikes can easily find something better.
That said, I commuted on a World Sport for years and still have it. I’m always surprised how nicely it rides for a modest bike.
