Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pretty sure he sanded it down for proper adhesion of decals, etc., prior to finishing it with a nice clear. Right? Right!?!

Major thumbs up! Totally jealous that you have access to an indoor space to paint.

I owned a Klein with the same paint job and loved it. My $.02: Don't put any decals on it. If you just *have* to, go with black outline the Spec logo with a thin stroke to keep it really subtle.

Well things went south. Turns out the matte black paint doesn't like high quality material on top and it started lifting, so I went ahead and stripped it. Now what kolor ?

Mixed silver and gold flake under a bright green that fades to dark green at BB?

I was wondering why you didn't just go ahead and strip it first.

Thinking something similar but blue. I've got a lot of leftover blue.

Paint is too expensive $400 a pint, need at least 2 pints for a good color change. Only reason it was painted like that the first time was I had some leftover paint.

There's no reason to, if it was painted already than yes but not if your going over the original finish.

Me neither, especially since I love colored frames. I am having a custom Ti frame built that will likely either be light pink or sea foam green Cerakote.

I am hoping it's just the lighting of the shot.

You've missed the rest of the thread... He has to do it over completely now because he didn't strip the original finish before the repaint.

This is why you post a project after it's done. Well, at least that's why *I'd* wait until it was done - I'd just know that I've got a good chance of ****ing it up along the way.

My vote is for some sort of fade job, as described by others previously. Also, how 'bout some evil looking skulls?

Fluorescent Red-Orange with black accents or fade. Always love a bright bike!

Maybe like a lava or molten metal look like it is still glowing red.
