Professional repair of tubulars

Do all you guys running tubies have a bunch of unusable tires (in a practical sense) with miles of rubber left on them?

I have a pile of tubes requiring patches. Is there a company I can send those off to for repair?

No.
Usually small cuts accumulate & eventually the tire is covered w/ shoe goo dabs.
BITD there were more tires waiting to be patched, but now nice tires don't cost much
so marginal ones get tossed.
I have a converse situation: Seeing tires on sale & can't resist the deal
so I have a bunch of brand new tires.

I'm gratified that you are so interested, being a busy guy and all. Package is out for delivery to Tube Alert. Seriously Rob, try to curb you enthusiasm. I won't keep you in suspense any longer than necessary.

Seeing mention of Shoe Goo leads me to wonder: would running sealant completely destroy the tubular ethos? It seems well-suited to the task, based on my tiny bits of understanding.

I run Orange Seal in my veloflex tubbies as do many others. It makes tubular life manageable. It does not ruin the ride and it literally kept me on the podium in one race where the puncture would have kept me out of contention. The sealant did its job and let me finish on slightly lower air pressure.

@Masque - it only takes a small bit of Stan's (or another brand) to seal a typical road flat on a tubular. I'm not including sidewall tears or a large cut through the tread. Many riders will preload some sealant in new tubulars as a precaution against flats. Added benefit is that even a small amount makes latex tubes hold air a bit better.

After a few days of no response from Tire Alert I called. The guy was out of the shop but promptly called me back when he got in to tell me he did have my tire. He was backordered on the 48mm valve stem tubes, both latex and butyl. Still waiting to hear that he has been resupplied. It has been about 3 weeks now since the tire was sent. Lucky I don't need that tire, eh?

Coincidentally, I just got the Pay Pal request for payment for the tube exchange. Only $28.00. The back ordered butyl tubes must have arrived. So I should see the tire pretty soon.
P.S.: I decided on butyl in order to get better air retention. I can't feel the difference in the ride anyway.

For slow leaks I always top off with sealant. Have saved many a tube and tire that way with no other work required.

Good news, bad news. The good news is that the tire has been returned and it looks great. Not new, but it's a good, near, clean job. The bad news is it now weighs 80 g more than when it was new. I asked for a butyl tube, but I didn't expect it to be a heavy duty butyl tube. The butyl tubes I use in clinchers weigh 67 g, less than many latex tubes. The one Tire Alert used must be an incredibly heavy tube.
Oh well. For the moment this tire will be a spare anyway.
