Q factor is crank width and probably just about the same between bikes, I would not worry about it.
There is a thread in the 41 about danger of carbon fiber steerer tube asplosion if you stack spacers above the stem and don't have a reinforced compression plug. I doubt it's really dangerous anyway but you may want to read up on it: https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycl...lt-forces.html

I've lost 40# and am just below the morbid obese level. Now, I'm just merely overweight and too fat for this sport.
Last April, my doc gave me 6 months to get my act together or start Metformin so my family doc wanted me to watch my sugars and starches. I also have radiation damage to my intestines and rear end, I'll spare you the details, but my gastro guy also started me on a special diet and it's been great for my gastro problems but the two diets don't always mesh well. Basically, I have a relatively sparse menu to choose from and I'm basically a vegi-turkian and even then, I have to avoid a lot of veggies and fruits.
Besides the 40#, my A1C has fallen a whole number to 5.6 since April. I see my doc tomorrow but she already called me last week to congratulate me with the results. I didn't tell her about the weight loss so maybe I'll get kudos and a lollipop tomorrow for that, too.
I've got some other relatively serious issues but I feel great at the moment and enjoy every day.

Regarding Q, some people are more sensitive to it than others. My wife and I are both spinners and seem to prefer as narrow a Q as possible, especially my wife. It may also be due to being short.
I don't know about SRAM and Shimano but Campy usually lists their Q in their specs. I remember when manufacturers started increasing Q to accommodate an increasing number of cogs, I really noticed it but now, I have no idea what the Q is on any of my cranks anymore.
Edit: Campagnolo lists the Q-factor on my Record crankset as 145.5 mm. My Ultegra 6800 is 146.6 mm so Shimano gives the spec, too.
I read somewhere that Q hasn't increased as much as people assume, so I doubt that you'll notice anything with new stuff.

We need a modern-day George Carlin to give us a stand-up routine on the "words you can't say on BF" like he did about TV back in the day.

Maybe someone could create a "B.F. After Dark" alternative website where we can cuss, get drunk, post pics of nekkid ladies, and say filthy stuff like "in before the lock".

Actually, there was a "spinoff" site that formed maybe 3? years ago, and it was kinda like that where you could actually swear but it was still civilized. We were not supposed to give details in here, lest we "advertise" a competitor site. The site is now defunct so maybe we can actually say its name now. Maybe. I won't unless a mod says it's ok. I am trying to maintain a semblance of good behavior.

To be frank, though, it's not like Addiction posts are coming in fast and furious and threatening to break the forum with their bulk. We could prolly keep this one alive for another quarter without things getting wonky.

Interesting observation on time/memory/recall. In the past, moved every few years. It was VERY easy to tie memories/events to where we lived at the time, so it was easy to know how long ago that happened.
We have now lived in our current house for 18 years so it's harder to "place" an event from say 3/5/8/10/12/15 years ago precisely.
That's my story and I am sticking to it. Couldn't have anything to do with being old. Right?
