Monster Cookie Metric Century - 2016

The ride this year is April 24. We've had great groups from Bikeforums in the past, always fun to see you all. Here is the link to info, be sure and check out the event jersey, looking really good! https://www.salembicycleclub.org/cont...?page=majrides

I'm looking forward to the ride. I considered the jersey, but I think I'll probably just get the T-shirt. I've got too many jerseys already. I have too many T-shirts too, but they seem to wear out faster.

We'll be there. Did it last year and did it in the past, when the monster cookies were actually monster.

My friend and I will (most likely) ride it on our fixies because it's a nice flat ride.

I'll be down there with a friend or two. It'll be my fifth Monster Cookie Ride in a row!

Looks like A fun ride. And free cookies?
I should make it and would like to ride this event. But I have not rode that much in the last few weeks and I'm A clydesdale.
And A metric Century is about my max I can ride.Might buy A jersey since it is the 40th ride.

There are lots of people who ride to the first rest stop, have cookies, then return from there to the start, it's about 35 miles that way. I always reserve that option if the weather turns rotten.

Thanks for info.Always good to know that you can ride a shorter route if you are not up to the metric century.
I rarely eat when I'm out for ride.I like A nice post ride meal.
Also do not put your rain parka away just yet.
Looks like light rain in the morning and increasing showers in afternoon.
I'll be on my 05 Orbea Marmolada that fits me best.

It was a fun ride, smaller than usual turnout. A few sprinkles here and there, mostly sunny. Oregon spring weather. I had fun, love that ride.

It was a good ride! After the forecast threatening rain all week, it only showed up later in the afternoon, the weather was pretty nice, and, for the first time in five years of doing this ride, I didn't get buzzed by a pick up truck!

Nice it did not rain much, but I'm ready for some hotter weather.Bring on the sun.
I read on FB or local news the turnout was about 700.I believe 2015 ride had somewhere around 1400 riders.

I ended up not going. Partly it was because I'm currently nursing a broken rib, but mostly it was because of the weather forecast. I ended up spending most of the day regretting my decision.

Also passed because of weather. Went mountain biking in sunny Wenatchee though so no regrets. Going to come down this weekend for some Willamette valley roads instead.
