Awesome frankenbike ergo. As close to the colour scheme of that jumper you posted on the first page as one could get...
Does this mean Carleton needs to give Zero Talent his $25?

If he can show that he built one from scratch per his original post:
I want to make something along the lines of the predator ergo bike. But I don't really have an idea how the driving system works I see there are basically two sets of chainrings one on the the cranks and one in between the cranks and the cassette. Just wondering if anyone can provide any insight on building one of these.
If he did make it, I'll PayPal him $25 right now and provide proof back to the forum. But, it's been over 2 years and nothing. I even asked for an update.

Thanks for the pics @Dalai
If anyone recognises the chain wheel on the double reduction gear and where to source a replacement I'm all ears. Currently it's still okay, but I'm keen to buy a spare and haven't found one that matches. Only details I have on the main crank is Prowheel AX10*170.
But definitely home made and probably the most ghetto ergo I've seen. Remember seeing this one posted on the Track Sprinting FB page...

Cycle Underground in Australia makes custom chainrings. They might be able o make something up.

Thanks for the tip. Will keep it in mind.
I have just emailed the store in Bendigo that made mine (they have changed hands in 2014 but a local newspaper article said one of the Harding family was still continuing in the workshop) to see if the may still have a NOS chain ring.
Plus there is a store in Melbourne called Bicycle Recycle that have all manner of older bits that I'll check out once I've stripped mine down.

The trainer in post 24 I believe belongs to Alex Simmons. The leg gave it away.
Edit: found it - https://alex-cycle.blogspot.ca/2008/0...ds-are-go.html

Dalai, how is the reduction cog attached to the second chainring on your erg? In the pics of the blue erg, it seems like the drive side of a track hub is bolted to the spider through the spoke flange.

Has anyone thought of mounting a tire onto the wheel, filled with sand to act as a flywheel, or is my mind just running with too many possibilities here?

I've seen people add lead weights (the kind you would put on the end of a tennis racquet to add weight) to a "training disc" before to add inertia for standing start training on the track. Not sure if it was really effective or not.

I couldn't tell you till I strip it down... My McGyver skills are poor, which is why I'm keen on finding a chain ring to fit rather than try and make something new which would fit regular chain rings! In regards to this, the shop in Bendigo already replied this afternoon. A member of the shops original owner's family who made these ergos will be at work Wednesday, so hopefully they can find a NOS spare gathering dust out in a box somewhere.

@brawlo heard back today. Harding family member thinks they may still have bits in their shed in Castlemaine and will check for us on the weekend.
