There was one American on the list of three. A cyclist that is showing he's a legitimate contender deserving to be in the same mention as the other two. It was YOU that assumed he was only listed because he's an American ...from an American.
A rather glib comment coming from someone that's obviously prejudiced.

Why have a list at all? Why not just ask the question in the thread title?

Kuss hadn't done much which is why I questioned the thinking behind his inclusion. I'm prejudiced against riders on 'most promising' lists that haven't shown much promise. If you eliminate all other reasons for his inclusion then his nationality is the real reason...........obviously.

To suggest he was included because of his nationality is very shallow on your behalf, and frankly ...quite offensive.
It's very obvious what your mentality is here, and I want no part of it. I'm done with you.

Now, you're just showing your ignorance. He was included for reasons such as this: https://www.sltrib.com/sports/2018/08/12/tour-utah/

If you want drop out of this discussion then that's fine by me. I told you why I thought he was the 'odd one out' in that list. You avoided my direct question as to why have a list.
Have a nice day.

Not being a veteran watcher of the races, I noticed that past deeds go way too long way to keep the now 'has beens' in the forefront of the hype, even if they don't perform for a whole season or even years and likely are behind their zenith, and the young upstarts as soon as they show some promise, there is bright future predicted for them. But it mostly doesn't pan out and the star rises from where it wasn't expected. Also very few don't buckle under the expectations placed on them.

Bernal is only 23, so he IS the next big name. 7 GC, including TDF in just 5 years as Pro.
Pogacar, Remco, Higuita and Martínez are going to make it really hard for him though.

"all right, well he was a young american..." looking forward to kuss (among a dozen or more of an international contingent) killing it at the tour.

not saying that a certain percentage of the vets won't be adequately repped at the tour (froomie, valverde, thomas, sagan, etc...) but there
is a bleepload of young talent that is already and has been producing at the highest level. this could very well be a young punks tour and
a definitive changing of the guard. we'll see soon enuff.
