It was 81 here today which is a little chilly after 90+ since summer began.
Did a short post work ride and was befuddled by the numbers. At an average heart rate right at 75%, my average speed (moving) was 18.1 which is very fast for this ride which I have done hundreds of times. I have noticed my speed is up with the new bike - especially after getting the seatpost with the required set back. Can a more aero position add .7 mph? Cooler temps = lower heart rate? I don't think so. I wasn't riding totally upright with a parachute before. I haven't gotten any stronger.

We were going to Lathrop State Park at noon today. We were going to pull the kid out of school early for the first time for the last camping trip of the year.
We not only had to cancel sites, but had to winterize the trailer and blow out our sprinkler lines. Eighteen degrees this morning, so we had a 62 degree shift. No fall for you.

Oof. All kindsa paint came off with the rim tape and there's an extra hole in the rim in an area with much corrosion. Looks like the Rolfs fell victim to too many rain rides in Portland/Vancouver.
I guess you should change your rim tape and check underneath it more often than every 17 years or so.

Like some other parts of the USA, our weather had totally gone to crap for October 12th. It started yesterday with dropping temps, increasing wind, and rain. Continues this morning with low 30s and higher winds.

Less the little hiccup, it's been nice here too. Waiting for higher 30's before I head out for a 4.5 hour endurance ride. I'm kind of looking forward to it, simply because we dropped the target by 20 watts. I still have to pedal for 4.5 hours, but I don't think I'll have to make deals with myself in order to complete it.

Reminds me of that epic October storm in 2006 that blew into Buffalo with heavy, wet snow before the leaves were off the trees. Virtually the entire city and surrounding suburbs looked like a cat 5 hurricane had blown through. Really, really sad.

It’s nice here today. Good amount of sun, with a high around 70. Got in a tidy 25 miles. Clouding up now, but tomorrow is supposed to be dry until maybe late. Want to get in a ride then watch the Eagles vanquish the Vikings.

Hanging out in Philly with mrs datlas. We almost got taken out by a big group of teens on motorcycles running red lights. Is that a thing, @indyfabz?
