Mystery Bike... Magnesium Frame?
I just picked this up and have no clue what it is. My first thought was a Cannondale but I don't think that is right.
The guy I bought it from said the frame is magnesium, he seemed to know his stuff.
Needs cleaned up and tuned before I ride it so can't comment on how it feels.
Seatpost is 27.2
The brake bridge, binder bolt and chain stays should help ID it.
Full Dura ace so I would think higher end.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I did it a little more looking after posting, I think it is an aluminum Trek. The seller sent me down a magnesium rabbit hole.

Kinda cool but is the rear brake bridge screw/bolted to the frame?

No. The brake bridge is a piece of solid aluminum rod, bent into that inverted "U" shape, legs mitered to fit against the stays, and epoxied to the seat stays. The "U" shape was chosen to provide a larger surface area for bonding with the seat stays.

Very limited tire clearance with the chain stays by what I can see . It may ride nicely , ya never know . The paint is nice.

I'd tag it around 1987, probably a Trek 1000 or 1200. I had a slightly later 1100 that was a lot of fun. Aluminum frame, steel fork.

It is 8 speed DA. I'm a sucker for the DA aero posts, they look great and polish up really well.
