Advice on Sturmley Archer Wheel

Advice on Sturmley Archer Wheel
I have a vintage dutch ladies bike but the rear wheel is slightly buckled.
I took it to a local bike shop and they said it was too warped to fix.
The hub appears to be fine but I wanted to know the cheapest way to get it sorted.
Pay for the hub to be placed in a new rim with spokes or go the whole hog and get whole new rear wheel.

Well, just quoting local prices (realizing that being in Bristol, it'd be different for you, I can buy a new Sturmey Archer 3 speed for $120 and have the wheel built for $40 more, or I can have the hub prepped and cut out for $10 and spend $40 building the wheel.
If there isn't anything wrong with your old hub, i'd go with that. Besides, I like the feel of an old worn in Sturmey 3.

Watch Ebay for a new rim and swap it over yourself. There's a couple of threads on the forum here about how to do it. It's easier than you think, and a great learning experience. If it comes out all wonky you can go to the LBS then and have them true it.

New rim. If you are lucky you can get one the same size and reuse the old hub and spokes, if not so lucky at least reuse the old hub.
