Lowriders and Roof Racks?

For those of you who use a front rack that extends below the axle on your tandem:

Are you able to mount it on a roof rack to transport it on a vehicle?

It looks like it would get in the way when you pivot it on a Yakima Sidewinder.

We considered replacing our 25 year old yakima tandem rack for sidewinder to ease loading but found that front racks do not allow rotation from ground. You can of course lift bike up and over without using rotating from ground feature. I emailed several manufacturers of tandem car roof racks (2 years ago) to see if they would consider adding adapters to make possible for tandems with front racks. None would. We have since moved on to a new tandem with couplers, so break bike apart and goes into car.
