Swapping 700c wheels on a Thorn Trident for 26 wheels. Is it possible?

is it possible to swap the 700 c wheels for 26 wheels without having the brakes be in the wrong place ?

I think that's a . . .bad idea.

I believe if the bike uses rim brakes then you'll definitely have a problem. Disc brakes should work but I believe yours is not equipped with such . The 700 and 26 inch rims are a different size and probably too much to handle.

If you had disc brakes, you could put on 650B wheels with fatter tires and probably be ok. I did it on one of ours and it rode well, but the fatter tires rubbed the fork with the slightest bit of out of trueness in the wheels.

Even with disc brakes the mismatch between wheel diameters would be so extreme that the bottom bracket would be too low for safety. Pedal strike in even a moderate turn would be a real possibility.
