UBike Metropolis 3 Speed

I recently purchased this folder from Bike USA through Amazon.

Priced at $302 with shipping.

So far, I like it.

Good gearing for where I need to ride. Shimano Revoshift is fine with me.

It has a clasping mechanism to lock the frame sections together when folded.

Very stable when pushing the folded bike ahead of you.

I considered the GreenZone 3 speed but I prefer 20' wheels over the 16".

I already have a Downtube mini, a solid bike, but it just isn't for me.

There was some shipping damage, Bike USA was easy to work with.

They sent me the new part pronto.

It looks like a nice bike for the price. I have the Downtube Mini as well,...the 8 speeds are nice, but the fold is horrendous. If the handlebar folded to the outside I MIGHT like it more. Personally, I'd rather ride this.

Disclaimers

Only about 300 miles on the UBike.

I've never owned/ridden a top line folder (or regular bicycle for that matter).

The frame hinge and stem hinge are stiffer than I'm used to, they look well made.

Shifting is flawless and the hub is pretty much silent.

No derailleur, a plus for me anyway.

It has a quick release to allow the handlebar to rotate.

Has ergonomic grips.

Kenda roller sport tires, narrow and roll nice.

For the chainwheel/rear cog ratio 52 front, 16 rear.

Like I said previously, I like the gearing for my riding.

Has a good top speed, for me.

Everything that I have checked was well lubricated.

It's a nice solid riding bicycle, I would buy it again.

For comparison, the other folders I own/ride or purchased for the family.

Walmart Genesis, $170, to my door. 1,000s of miles on it. I would buy it again.

Citizen Bike Barcelona, $400-500, can't remember, maybe 1500 miles. I would certainly buy it again. The wife loves it.

Adventurer folding adult 3 speed trike, from Camping World. About $350. Ridden over 7000 miles. I would buy it again. Everybody should own one of these.

Downtube 8H, early model, early Sturmey internal 8 speed hub. Around $500. 3000 miles. I would but it again.

Downtube Mini, has the newer Sturmey W 8 speed hub. About $450. Less than 100 miles. I would not buy it again.

The Walmart, Adventurer and Citizen Bike arrived, after some assembly, in ridable condition.

The others arrived damaged enough to be unrideable.

I enjoy working on bicycles so repairing is not a big deal.
