Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm just wondering, in theory, how it would be done. Gobble down prednisone, like this?

Got out for a little (but much needed) ride. I stopped off at a lake just to see how the ice was coming along and I was rewarded with the "pew pew pew" of singing ice. You'll have to turnt up the volume a little to hear it -

Sad. If only there was a nearby college team that was available Saturday.

It's enough to make one want to take up thin ice skating!

I'd see that video before - it's super cool - but this was the first time that I'd heard it myself.

Yeah, I was looking around for rocks, too, but couldn't find one for the life of me (well, not one that wasn't frozen in place). I also tried stomping on and smacking the ice, but it was ineffective and, given the slippery footwear, I didn't want to push my luck.

I eat a wide variety of food including vegetables, fruit, nuts, lean meats, etc. and it just seems wrong that I need to take a vague pill from a vague source.

Basically cancer chemo at toxic doses, followed by bone marrow transplantation or stem cell treatment after the blood cell generating system is wiped out. I've seen it done for a few tragically ill patients with lupus etc. and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Some of those drugs, notably cyclophosphamide, are used in much lower doses for autoimmune disease when the steroids fail. Not fun.

I think you ought to post your blood pressure and heart rate daily here on BF to get the best evaluation from the herd.

Probably does not matter. I am guessing you are taking some type of hormone blocking treatment for your prostate cancer, so they probably want this to avoid osteoporosis. If you are getting 1200-1500+ mg/day of dietary calcium and plenty of sun exposure, I am inclined to say it’s not necessary.

That said, always be cautious about medical advice off the internet as these decisions are often nuanced and should be discussed with the doctor who knows you and your history the best.

We know one way knock out the immune system - HIV. Kills off your CD4+ T-cells which essentially turns off the immune system, and you die of opportunistic infections.

Not all of them. I have a distant relative who moved from Saskatoon to Perth about five years ago and now she is rubbing salt in it by posting summer pics on IG.
