I wanted a Twenty or an RSW for a long time until I finally found the latter and tried to fold it up. Just like that, I was cured! That Birdy looks like fun, have you got it back on its feet yet?

The RSW was made to fit in a car trunk/hatchback as a last-mile transportation device in pedestrianized shopping areas. It was not meant to be fold-it-and-tote-it like a Brompton. The Twenty's fold is a bit awkward, but it is nothing like the RSW.

Just remember that I have the green '70 Twenty sitting here for when you get tired of the Moulton. I have to complete my trinity of bat-$h!t crazy folding bikes, after all: Twenty / Birdy / Moulty.

And yes, the Birdy is on its feet (or has "spread its wings?"), though it is in sore (pun intended) need of a B.17. Also needs grips and some more agreeable pedals. I even did a promotional "Don't drive on Halloween" Twitter thread for work with it. Would advise clicking through to Twitter to see all the pictures:

I have an ongoing thread in the Folder forum about it: https://www.bikeforums.net/folding-b...rone-bits.html

Ok, the final chapter of framebuilding is finally done with. Soon as my back isn't aching from the Spin project, I'll prep the braze-ons, file away some of the rougher silver solder, get this thing painted, and begin assembly.

For sheer lunacy?

I'm still waiting to see if opinions change when the reasons behind all the odd braze-ons come to fruition.

Kurt, post a side by side picture of the frame from before you began the mods to now. Or better yet, do one of those slide overs that the BBC and other places do to show the before and after!

I think I'll hold off doing that until I have it painted and the unusual Suntour fork installed - along with the cables routed. Right now, it looks uglier than its blue incarnation

Believe it or not, the 1-1/8" headtube isn't really that noticeable, so even a direct side-by-side of this frame with one of my stock '70 Twenties may not be that striking.

I wish I did too...remember, I'm not the genius holding the torch.

The pictures are of it blasted down to bare metal with a couple of test shots of primer on the surface.

We may see paint by next weekend

Gotta order some 2K Eastwood Ceramic Chassis Black for this - turns out we couldn't piggyback the paint itself off one of the other jobs (it was gloss). Still, it is a far cry from what it looked like a month ago...

the Raleigh 20 never ever seen before. One and done?

P.S. The fender on the bike in the background needs adjusting. Just in case you've not noticed.

One and done.

Tandem isn't mine; this is at the painter's house. It's a disaster that a customer wants to rat rod. Wouldn't own the POS myself

I didn't think that looked anything like your neat and tidy yard. Why paint the POS if its's a Rat Rad (I ask rhetorically)?

That's the tidiest corner of the yard (there's an F350, F250, '68 Type 1 w/a fiberglass MG TD body, and '62 Cadillac back there), but I think the frame of the tandem has some issues. Don't really remember what it was.

My yard...well, one corner of it has been a holding tank for Spins getting donated to local charities (remember the 50 Freeport bikes? Spin gave me the remaining 400+ in the warehouse) so you could say that I'm rivaling him for stuff in the yard
