Pinion gear box?
I’m fascinated with the Pinion gear boxes that are gaining traction in the df bikes, to the point I’m seriously considering trying one out but I don’t want to give up my recumbent. Have any of you heard or seen anything about any of the recumbent makers offering the Pinion system on their bikes?

Yes, they are used on recumbents. Utah Trikes offers them as an expensive upgrade to some of their trikes. The price is pretty astounding - $835 for the most basic upgrade to $2035 for the most expensive. Check out this listing for the Catrike Expedition. Look under "Front Gearing". https://www.utahtrikes.com/PROD-11617614.html And a link to the basic gear system https://www.utahtrikes.com/PROD-11620417.html This works on a trike because you can change out the boom for one that has been designed for the Pinon. It looks as though you have to buy a new 2-wheeled recumbent to get the Pinion gearing. HPV makes bikes with them https://www.hpvelotechnik.com/presse...gration_e.html
