To whoever left this note on my car in Claremont

I'm pretty sure I know you were one of three cyclists on mountain bikes as I pulled into the Claremont Wilderness Park parking lot since once I was out of the car you looked around 2 other vehicles to see who I was.

I do apologize for running the stop sign. It is a very quiet street and I haven't been up it before. While it's no excuse because I should have seen it, I didn't. My fault and I've noted that it's there for the next time I'm up that way.

Regarding your laughable note. Wouldn't it be better served to not be such an ass and consider the possibility the sign was not seen? Or perhaps the whole purpose of your note was to make you feel better about yourself through this incredibly ridiculous passive aggressive manner. It doesn't surprise me why you didn't just say something to me when you peeked around the corner at me. Sadly, you obviously mistook my "self-centered, macho, and look-out-for-me" posture as something totally beyond simply having a good posture and being confident in myself (not to be confused with arrogance please!). Sorry, I walk like a Marine because I am one. Shoulders square and back, upright, etc. I would have expected you to notice my license plate frame denoting my military affiliation. Although I'm sure my vanity plate denoting my passion for time trialing gave you some partial idea I am a "look at me" type and you are right to some small extent but then we all are in some way. Really it's just the pride I have in the things I enjoy doing.

So please remember the old adage, you get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar. Have a wonderful evening and enjoy the fantastic weather!

Wow. Mr. opinionated note writer sure is courageous when he/she is anonymous. I bet that if the noter personally confronted you, he/she would not make eye contact and say something like, "Umm, excuse me. Oh, never mind."

That's pretty funny. If you really pissed me off, I might loudly call you an ******* (although it takes a lot to piss me off that much - years of road riding have mellowed me considerable), but I would never think to sit down and write you a note!

Also, I'm pretty shocked that they wrote it in cursive. Who (after 6th grade) writes in cursive anyways?

Writing your post here does not validate their point (self centered, macho, look-out-for-me type)... instead the post makes you look egotistical and arrogant.

You screwed up... So stand up, take your lumps like a man, and don't run stop signs in the future. (for all of our sakes)

Actually the only intent I had on posting it here was the slim chance it may find it's way back to its writer. Whether that be now or some time down the line.

I'm also pretty sure I admitted my fault first and foremost and made no excuses for it. I ran a stop sign...my bad. The remainder of my post was only directed at the super passive aggressive letter left on my windshield. I mean really, was the intent of the letter to inform me of a stop sign to talk **** through a note!?!

Sorry, Marines are like that and he probably won't run the stop sign in the future.

I should know, I am one also! Semper Fi!

Speaking of large egos and arrogance, my mom will be getting a heavy dose of that as it is worse right after boot camp (my brother is at the Island as I type this). She's already noticed it in his letters and has told me when I've talked to her.

The writer spelled "latter" wrong, i.e. the latter group.

Yeah, it's funny how that happens huh?

I just went down to Pendleton last weekend for the Devil Dog Duathlon. I left 9 years ago and it always makes me miss it when I ride through the base or compete on it. There are just some things you don't find in the civilian world. Oh well, my hat is off to those that do continue to serve.

Yeah why talk crap through a note when you can take it one step lower and talk crap on a forum. Epic fail on your part. Who cares if they left a note. Throw it away and move on with your life. Is it really that big of a deal you have to post about it on here?

Proof that, "A goose quill is more dangerous than a lion's claw."
Or at the very least, more provocative.

This type of thing does not surprise me in Claremont, people are always overly concerned what others are doing.. If it was the stop sign at the corner of mills and baldy road, it is 3 point intersection and you can easily see if there is any traffic for a considerable distance..

Actually, there is a bush that made a (what I thought) horrendous smell at night near Los Pulgas on the way to I-5. There is a section on one of the trials I ride near Boomers and 405 (in Irvine) and the smell just makes me want to rip my nose off.....I can't stand it.

When I get sinus infections I miss the gas chamber..... I could do without remembering the 80 miles of running each week though..... that hurts just thinking about it.

Just a thought, unrelated to the note, but related to Marines. What is Fi? Fi is meaningless. It is Fidelis. Semper Fidelis. Fi isn't a word!
