my tri shorts are too small?
Picked up some tri shorts, have my first brick work out this sat- how small is too small? 
Ok, but seriously. They ride a fine line between the rubber around the legs being just right, maybe pinching a slight bit. Seemed to ride a fine line btw two sizes, and assumed a bit tighter is better than looser, is this correct thinking?
Am I just shy about small shorts?

Tighter is better than looser...
wear them a few times they will stretch slightly.

My tri-shorts are much shorter than my bike shorts, and my swim suit. I don't really see the point, but it does show off a nice tan-line on race day.

Yes, tight is better. The goal for Olympic swimmers is to get the smallest size that does not rip. This cuts down drag during the swim and they will go faster. Triathletes do not need as much in the drag reducing department but I still went two sizes down when I got my trisuit.

I'm a bigger guy, and I found them to fit similarly to my bike shorts, but as I think about it they are a bit smaller. And I will say, being a Clyde and feeling somewhat aerodynamic are not usualy things that go together, but wow the difference between the tri shorts and boards shorts was monumental.

my first tri shorts were smaller than would be advisable for a male wanting to show himself in public, but they worked for my first season. I agree with the others, smaller is better than too big, but your bike store should carry enough of a selection to find the right size.

For comfort, its better to err on the side of tight/short. The only issue with short is the potential that your legs rub together on the run. If they are loose, they will not be comfortable on the bike, with the pad not being in a good location.

kidding. yeah, they are ok. prob would have gone with a size bigger, but considering they were half off (and none available bigger), I'll take it. first season, first tri. maybe last season, last tri- so no use dumping tons of money into it.... yet.
