Book is available that might be of interest to some of you 50+ chaps
A book has just been published that tells the story of how I fractured my neck in a time trial race in 2005, and my subsequent comeback from that life threatening injury to winning 11 Florida state cycling championships and breaking the Florida age group records for the 5, 10 & 20K time trials. It is not only a comeback story, but has a lot of training/racing chapters aimed at the masters crowd, including chapters on weight training, nutrition, supplementation, medical issues for masters, etc.
The book is entitled, "From Broken Neck to Broken Records, a Masters Cyclist's Guide to Winning."
It will make a great Christmas present to yourself or another cyclist. It can be purchased at:
https://www.createspace.com/3382281
It will also be available on Amazon.com in a coupe of weeks and bookstores soon thereafter.

Skydive69............glad to see you back and glad you've more than "succeeded" at a comeback. I recall at least a couple things: one was when you had your accident and then posted about your intended return to cycling (me thinking, "Yeah, right, poor guy") and pic of you in an animal striped skin suit on a Guru time trial bike. Anyway, I'm off to check out your book...thanks for the heads-up.

Thanks 47 - the cover photo is with that zebra suit which is what I was wearing when I crashed. The gloves in the cover photo are the ripped ones I was wearing at the time of the crash. It has been an exhilarating comeback. I recently got the amazing news that I am receiving a full factory by Teschner bicycles out of Australia. They are sending me a $10,000 Teschner 703 time trial bike. Amazing that a 69 year old can get a factory sponsorship - I could hardly believe it!

Thanks for the heads up skydive. I'll get the book and read more about your training. I haven't seen you around for a while and was wondering what was up. Good to hear your doing OK.
