Sante Groupset Value
Hi all,
I have a full Sante groupset that I am thinking about selling, but cannot easily gauge the worth based on Ebay completed items (not enough recent listings). It's in what I think is fair to say "good" or "above average" condition (no, I don't have pics and am just trying to get a ballpark). Set would include brake levers, brakes, shifters, crankset, BB, FD, RD, uniglide cassette, and hubs mounted to Mavic MA 40 rims (and chain I suppose). The group is currently installed on a Schwinn Prologue I picked up from the original owner recently. The Sante looks nice on it, but I will probably swap over an Ultegra 6500 group at some point. Thoughts?
Thanks!!!

Pictures would help greatly in helping with groupset value. Different people have different opinions based on parts condition.
I sold an NOS set of shifters for ~$55 so a used pair I'd say half value.
Also this might get moved here.

Condition is key with Sante, particularly when it comes to the white finish on the crank arms and rear derailleur. The headset is fairly unique and would also help the value. I sold a clean Sante group minus hubs and shifters a few years ago for $175 incl. shipping. Sold the hubs separately for $80.
I don’t think it’s commanding any more these days so I’d guess right around $200-$225 for your set assuming the white finish is in good shape. If the wheels are really nice, let’s add another $50.

Appreciate the feedback! I understand there will be variability based on actual condition, just looking to get an idea of what's possible. I have lots of notions of bike part swaps and rebuilds and not much time.

I agree that condition is of utmost importance. If the cranks have a lot of white rubbed off and the RD has any road rash, I wouldn't even want them. With clear anodized parts, you can buff out minor rubs and scratches, but when the white on Sante' goes, it's gone for good.

I used to keep really good records of what I bought and sold. When it was worth the time. I sold this entire group with wheels locally for $250 in Sep 2009. I had heard wild stories of it fetching 4-$500. Maybe in a bidding war 12 years ago. Pretty stuff. It was a good deal since it came off a Schwinn Circuit that I paid $200. I liked that bike a lot. I hope this link actually shows the photos. It is from P bucket.

I remember the images in the Bloor Cycle catalogue when Sante first came out. Due to the lighting the Samte groupset looked like it was a pale gold colour. Now that would have been a great colour fort hat groupset.
Cheers
