I feel sorry for fully abled folks that drive to see their local fireworks.
About an hour prior, cars are scrambling around the neighborhood, detouring police blocked roads, frantically looking for parking, majority of them about half mile away.
As soon as fireworks are over, cars need to wait for the army of pedestrians to go away first, and then they are gridlocked in bumper to bumper for a good 30-45 mins.
I swear if I didn't have a bike, I would just walk.

Where I live, fireworks are kind of unrestricted. Technically, they're not supposed to be shooting off the big ones. But they're legal to sell and it's a geographically large area with a fairly small sheriff's presence. I expect it's going to be booming tonight.
And I have to get up early in the morning.

Gotcha. I lived not too far away at Sunset and Pabco for a lot of years, so I'm very familiar with the area. Whenever I'm heading into Vegas for any kind of shopping, I tend to gravitate into Henderson because I'm so familiar with it. Ever ride the trails out by Lake Mead? Three Sisters? I do that route a lot. Park out by the Lowe's up off Horizon, down Boulder Hwy, out Lake Mead, then up the trails. I tend to go out past Railroad Pass and into Boulder City to get a good ride in. Just too hot now. Won't be doing that again before September at the earliest.

I have this make-shift flag pole set up at my house. Thought this was a pretty decent pic before I retired the flag for the evening.

I've been planning the Wetlands Loop Trail and the BC Railroad Trail. The River Mountain Loop is something for the future...

Banned.
Independence is a time to celebrate freedom, achievement and diversity. The best day ever. I've been learning about the declaration of independence, you can check here if you want. Very interesting story behind this. Not everyone really knows her and it's a little sad. Although you literally need to spend a day on this to find out about everything.

It refers to an inanimate object not a living being.

We don't allow "fixed that for you" posts where a quote of someone is altered. Reporting new ones is okay, but please don't start reporting every single one from the past, unless it really made you mad.

It's like how 'groomer' is so frequently used now, and most of the time it is misused. It cheapens the term and turns the conversation away from a genuine concern and moves it towards a discussion of how the accuser doesn't even know what a word means.
A small hat on a dog is not abuse. You may dislike it, you may find it distasteful, but it is not evidence of abuse.
Simple as that.
Abuse is cruel treatment. Abuse is violent treatment. Abuse is not asking a family member or pet to pose for a picture in something they otherwise wouldn't normally wear.
There is already enough extremism in this world, no need to add to it.

^ I’m pretty sure my lab wouldn’t care if I put a party hat on him.
He’s not particularly patriotic though. A hat with him chasing a cat or a hat with a bratwurst im brotchen would be more in line with his life’s priorities.

It's over statements like this that then lead to a reduced amount of attention and care to actual animal abuse where the animal is being physically or mentally abused.
