Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pulled the trigger! Roubaix Elite 2011 SL2 frame with a mad cool scheme. White carbon and Gold letters! components are the new Sram Apex. Seems very nice, and the most impressive feature being a 11-32 sram cassette! DUDES its huge!

Check it out!

DUDES, bragging about the size of ones cassette is the the same as bragging about the size of your beer gut. Bigger is not better in this case...

Nice ride!!
I looked at the 2010 Roubaix Elite, test rode the expert since it was ready to go, but couldnt afford either!! On my last visit to the same LBS, the guy mentioned the 2011 were on the way and that one with the apex seemed really tempting. It's like 1999 list, right? They called me to go try the new secteur, but I bought a Neuvation FC100 with Rival. Now it's a waiting game, and fingers crossed that all goes well and fits, etc.

Have fun riding it!

Great looking bike, let us know what you think of the Apex once you get a chance to ride it a while.

see that purple one in the back pile? That's the one I have 09' roubaix expert demo model. love it but can't match the colors to save my life. It took me a while to really appreciate my Roubaix but I love her now, sometimes I wish I just would have went with a tarmac though.

Nice looking rig! Ride on and ignore remarks that only point out negative stuff.

I like the new apex 32 cog....it makes my 11-28 seem not quite as wimpy as it did a year ago.

Nice!
I have an 09" Roubaix Elite with 105/Ultegra and I love it.
I took it out for an easy 50km ride last night and I will get another if I ever wear this one out.
What kind of tires do the new ones have? Mine has the Roubaix Pro II 23/25.

went in to the LBS looking for what was new in the specialized world in the 2k range and the conversation immediately turned to this bike. they had one ordered in and bought in the last few days and they were very impressed. i ended up picking up a NOS 2008 Roubaix Expert w full Rival for $2200. Nice bike for a good price

I visited two LBS and both said the same thing about the Roubaix Elite...They both said that the 2011 elite has last years top of the line frame and nothing in its class is touching it right now due to the level of frame.

I went back to the LBS today and there was literally a line of people waiting to take a test ride today. The guy said that they received a huge order of the 2011 Roubaix elites and all of them had been sold but two....After my visit they are down to one..

I cant wait....I dont get it until Wednesday. They didnt have my pedals and the bike wasnt built. I am doing the professional fit so I am glad I am not doing it on a rushed weekend day. I have been riding MTBs for a long time and this is my first road bike. I feel like such a newb even though I have been pedaling for 30 years...

I am really digging the color scheme. Very nice machine you got there. The new Tarmacs are also SL2 frames in the low end right?
