The town that I lived in for 38 years was named Groveland for the maple groves. One particular grove was still tapping trees til about 1990 when the owner died and the property was subdivide for McMansions.
I still have a couple friends that tap trees using plumbing and what-not unlike the old grove mentioned above which was still taps and buckets.

Damn, my favorite whey product is not even on the list (Muscle Milk). I started using it because the Florida State track team where my son competed was using it and winning titles at the time. That was convincing testimony for me. The fact MM isn’t even on the list is perplexing.
mm whey isolate with added sugar and fat. atleast that’s all it was when I was in college.

I went downstairs to do fake miles. Wanted to do a group ride for motivation. I could not find one at my level so signed up for one above my level. That was hard. I stayed with them for about 18 minutes, then lost my signal for a second and got spit out the back. I tried hard to bridge back but was redlining it even before the drop. I believe I did over my FTP for 20 minutes. That was hard.
Next time I will pick an easier group.

Busy morning, dogs walked. Food shopping with Mrs. Pirkaus, done. Buy doorway jumper for grandson, done.
Breakfast consumed. Addiction read. Fake miles will ensue later.

Protip: running 90 minutes when you haven't gone north of an hour in six weeks hurts.

I've occasionally wondered where the inflection point is where I could outrun the NFL boys, especially ones like the Mannings. Then I heard a former Charger say he had it on good authority that Rivers had never run a mile in his life. Just not in the job description.

So you won't mind if I jump over your lifeless body? It's nothing personal, just about survival.

Interestingly enough, nowadays most of the most successful QBs are all mobile . . . Mahomes, Jackson, Wilson, Rodgers, Watson . . . . who am I missing? The defensive ends have gotten too athletic to hold off for more than 3 seconds, you better be able to move your ass.

The same with Tom Brady, most likely.

I remember seeing a neck warmer type of contraption being recommended in the past, but can’t find it now (perhaps in a previous Addiction). Any recommendations?

In general I don't think sprinters are good at long distance competitions. I'm sure they could maintain a jogging pace almost indefinitely, but they would be outclassed in a distance competition. I hated it, myself

I think I could jog a mile, then I'd have to jump into a vat of magnesium gel to fight the cramps.

I've been fully retired for 11 years but my average includes my working years, too. I have no idea how I managed back then though I do remember using lights a lot.
