Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Our president tried to re-assure everyone that it's been long enough that if we aren't showing symptoms by this point, it's highly unlikely that we were infected by him.

So with that said, naturally, I've been feeling a little short of breath since last night and earlier today. It's likely just allergies since I've had a bit of a tingly throat and some sinus drainage as well. Or it might be some residual effects from the cold I had a bit ago. But still I just can't shake the idea that I might just be asymptomatic or just have extremely mild symptoms. I'm still coming in to work, and wondering if that's still a wise idea.

Asking to work from home is a switch I don't want to flip too early since once that starts I'm basically committed until this whole thing blows out, but I also don't want to wait too long.
TL;DR version. I'm at the bottom right:

Yeah, my 4th grade granddaughter has had a chromebook issued by her school from the start of the school year, this year and last year too. Getting them started early I guess.

I rode a bit and went by the big park where the are doing cofeve testing. Maybe hundreds of cars lined up and down the roads. A frightening scene. I then went by two huge parking lots which were filled with rv type trailers. The mayor said they were setting up trailers to house the homeless people who test positive and others who need to be isolated. More fright.

I may have seen it in the store once. I have also looked at photos, drawings and the specs. I may save it for flatter, local trips because total weight is 10 oz. more than my UL. Having two vestibules and two side doors instead of one front door and one vestibule will be nice.

Exporting ride videos has me thinking that I may need to upgrade my measly 6-core/12 thread CPU, though...

That or find a video editor that'll take advantage of my fairly powerful GPU (I'm just using the software that came with the Cycliq and I don't think it's got hardware acceleration).

I wouldn't take any chances. You being able to export ride videos expeditiously could be the difference in catching an offending driver or them getting away!

I have an i5 with 16gigs and a RAID array for my HTPC.

I suppose the RAID is justified.

I think the sbxx household is going to make some cotton hospital masks. I just bought a simple used sewing machine and fabric from a Thornton sewing shop (+1) and received the pdf file with instructions on how to make the masks from Saint Joseph Hospital (+2). This happens to coincide with a school project for the remainder of the year (+3). Curbside pickup tomorrow morning.

My mother in law's neighbor is an ER nurse at Saint Joseph. My mother in law ran into her walking the dog and offered to make some masks. ER nurse originally said no, but then hunted her down and took her up on it. Mother in law has made 15 masks so far.

I still used my old 2008 Macbook to watch things on our TV until it got so old that Google Chrome no longer was supported or updated on it, and Hulu stopped working entirely.

Then the battery got puffy

Yesterday, as the little girl napped, I snuck out for a ride. Today, it was time to wash and lovingly caress the Cervelo. Two things: 1) I love not getting black smudges on my hands with every little nudge of the drivetrain 2) Never again will I buy a bike with a matte finish. Cleaning the Cervelo is WAAAAAYYYYY easier than the Domane.

Anyway, here's the current, ready-to-ride status of the Cervelo. I bought some silver/gray Bontrager cages - they're not an exact match, but I can't find anything red or gray that is an exact match and I didn't want to go with black cages. They'll have to do for now. Cervelo stem installed, but I still want to get around to trimming the steerer so that the top cap sits flush with the stem. I also want to track down some black baby bike bolts for the out-front mount.
