2020 concerts ruined!

KISS twice, MŲtley Crue Def Leppard Poison Joan Jett, Guns N Roses, Judas Priest. Not officially canceled as of now but I expecting it. I was looking forward to seeing all my geezer bands one last time. But I realized the battle against this virus is more important. Iím doing what I can in the effort not to spread this virus. Now all the black and death metal I have listened to over years is becoming true. Texas state parks are closed one of my escape places as well as national parks. Good thing I can ride my bikes in the boondocks straight from the garage. That is where I am very fortunate. I had a great 2020 planned out but now reality has changed. Anyways Iím prepared to do whatever it takes for the greater good.

No summer music. No baseball. No hot dogs. No nothing. No ice cream runs, No golf, It's really a glum outlook for the summer of 2020.

Edit: Nonetheless, beats giving the virus to someone else, or catching it.

FWIW, I'm a regular-working geezer musician (not a metal guy), but all of the gigs I was supposed to play from March through June have been cancelled. It's looking as though the entire summer may be cancelled as well.......ugh! This may be a good thing in the sense that I haven't had a break from gigging since I was a teenager but, of course, spending most of my time at home isn't exactly the type of break I was looking for, either. It looks to be a different world when all of this passes.

Like yourself, though, I live in a rather remote part of the world where I have an abundance of quiet country roads available, so cycling has been a lifesaver for my sanity. I'm not sure what I'd do if that wasn't the case. Learning to basketweave or to play bingo isn't an option, either.......

It's a bummer but I didn't have a shot at any of that in the first place. You coulda been contender at least!

Go to a Beach Boys concert. You won't have a problem with social distancing.

I thought I'd check our local Cuthbert Amphitheater. An odd outdoor venue.

Home - The Cuthbert Amphitheater
Covid-19 Statement and Postponements - The Cuthbert Amphitheater

It looks like they have summer events scheduled, but nothing prior to May 10.

Foam Wonderland on May 9 has been postponed.

As an outdoor theater, it may have some benefits, but I hope they choose to limit occupancy to say 33%, which might be tough to do. We'll see what the next month brings us.

You really wanna see Joan Jett die of COVID-19? I mean, Joan still looks fabulous. She's aged better than most of us her age or older. But even Saint Joan has her limits.

I'm appreciating the musicians who are doing home concerts on YouTube.

I just don't want to see a bunch of aging rockers my age, and their audiences, dying of COVID-19. It's depressing enough to see the list of notable deaths so far.

Yup, I agree. The talk is probably most major tours will be rescheduled for 2021. The Fall is too soon and Iím not taking the risk. Even if I have to burn the ticket money which sucks itís better than catching or spreading death. Iím surprised on the way people here are wearing masks and distancing themselves in the small town of Hondo. I figured people here would take a I donít give a F attitude so far they havenít. I was just at HEB with a mask as was everyone else. The store was doing their part in disinfecting the carts and keeping people at distance.

Depends on who and where you are.

Most of the AAA tours coming through here between March and May have rescheduled to the summer starting late June....whether they actually fulfill those contracts is anyone's guess. While I'm glad for the income, I'm glad to be out of work given the petri-dishes on wheels that are roadie rigs.

Yup, Iím just disappointed I thought 2020 was going to be a great year. I have several concert tickets already on my I-phone. Then this Covid stuff happens. I just hate not knowing how this will all play out. I can wait until 2021. KISS in Lafayette moved to Oct 7 ... First concert would be MŲtley Crue, Def Leppard in Houston on July 15. That hasnít been rescheduled as of now but it might be soon... I guess I will have a cold beer and listen to Ozzyís Boneyard in my garage as I do some bike maintenance.

Actually, I think Mick might not make it. Now, Keith Richards, even Ozzy (as long as he doesn't fall),...Covid-19 is scared of the both of them!!!

Mick Mars from MŲtley Crue might not make it. I like his guitar tones. I believe Mars is around 10 years older than the others. Must be in his early. 70s.

He was lubricated like a North Sea oil field back then too.
