Is the post sanded down to 27.4, or was that the original size? If it was the original size, what is it sanded down to?

The original size is 27.4, but it was sanded down to fit a 27.2 seat tube. I'll take a caliper to the entire post this morning and will reply with the minimum measurements and any anomolies.

Seriously? You send me a PM last night at 8:48pm asking if I'd take the SR rear derailleur as partial trade for some parts I'm selling, I send you a PM back less that 12 hours later stating I would, but you've already sold it to someone else? Your business ethics could use some work.
Why even ask me if I was interested if you had no intention of giving a person a reasonable amount of time to reply to YOUR pm?

Sounds like we all should take this a little less seriously.

I inquired with you about a possible partial trade (multiple options, nothing traded straight across), and before you replied about any of them, a buyer came through without any hassle.

You could have, of course, asked for clarification in a DM but have instead chosen to flame me in my own FS thread.

I'm trying to be fair to everyone who shows serious interest, and am sorry that the timing here was unfortunate.

Lots of people are stressed right now, and it's probably not a good idea to fight over silly bikes parts.

Proper etiquette would've been to wait for a reply to a deal YOU initiated. If it were too much "hassle" to work a trade versus a direct sale, why did YOU tender the offer?
As for "serious interest", may I remind you I had expressed "serious interest" before the previous buyer backed out.
Being fair to everyone would've involved you either withdrawing your trade offer to me, or honoring it; your choice.
I'll say no more on the issues.
Ride safe, ride often, but do ride.

Since I'm being made an example of, I'll just mention here that this might be saying more about you nesteel than it does me.

I'm torn.

Do I offer you the other SR RD that I have in my drawer?

Do I (again) try to mediate this over DM and avoid further conflict?

In any case, I'm genuinely sorry for the misunderstanding and wish it were more about finding a peaceful conclusion than flaming people thousands of miles away from you.

The post was originally 27.4, and the previous owner tried to sand it into 27.2 but went too far towards the end of the post.

The narrowest I measure is about 26.5mm diameter about 45mm from the bottom of the post. The 27.4 looks untouched for about the first 70mm from the top on down.

So I suppose it could be used as a shorty 27.2 or something in the 26.x range if you were to take the whole post down to a consistent diameter. Hope this helps.
