I'm new to biking. I was looking at the first bike in the post. The Zodiac MB100. I couldn't find any info online about it. Is it a decent bike? Does it look alright from the picture. The owner couldn't tell me much about it. I don't need a fancy bike just something comfortable that is reliable.
And does anyone know the size? I am 6ft. Thanks!!

Judging by the rust on the chain, crank arms, and kickstand, I can only imagine what the rest of drivetrain actually looks like, before even considering it is probably low end to begin with.
Unless you are willing to drop in the neighborhood of $100 and your time to replace everything on that bike, I can't imagine it being anything near reliable. I'd pass.

Yeah, i'd skip it. It looks like the front brake came off another bike, and I have no idea where they found that kickstand.
Also, it's a 'women's' frame, and at 6', I don't know why you'd want the smaller bike.
The 2nd bike, the Motiv, looks to be in much better shape, other than the flat rear tire.
Also appears to need a new chain, and grease the hubs, and you've spent $50 on a bike that was probably less than $100, when it was new.

Cheap, yes. Reliable, no.
Would do? Maybe. If you want a bike on a budget to do some occasional riding one of these could work for you but the most important things to consider are:
1 - Do you feel comfortable? I could recomend you the best 2017 bike and it may not be of your liking.
2 - Does it ride well? You are no mechanic but if something's wrong you can tell.
3 - Does the risk worths the price? And I mean risk of regreting ever buying it.
There will be always someone criticizing a cheap bike, but cheap bikes do have its reason to exist. If you are looking for something reliable and cheap I'd check Walmart or something, they don't sell the most reliable bikes but prices are good and components are new.

It sounds to me like you are looking for a $30.00 bike.
If that's the case, I wouldn't worry about "if it's a good bike". As long as it was clean and rust free (and there are some out there) I'd buy it and run.

It's a piece of junk. It was a boat anchor when new....it hasn't gotten any better with time and neglect. If you're going to ride something like that, you'd be better off with a $99 Walmart special- They're junk too- but at least it would be new.
You're probably going to have to spend $200-$300 to get a mediocre used bike- or a new one of similar quality from bikesdirect.com -unless you get really lucky and just happen to come across a great deal at a yard sale or something...but you'd kinda have to know what you were looking at.
