So, I hit a rock (or something) on today's last gasp of fall ride. I blew both sidewall and tube at once, ruining that nice plan.
So i know i need to deburr this with an emory cloth, but I'm wondering if the chip location will make recurring flats happen, and how i could best deal with this. Do I fill the gap? These (brand new) Rims are vertically and horizontally true, so its just the chip. Any advice would be appreciated!

You might very lightly remove any burrs on the rim, but it doesn't look that bad to me. Wheel still true?

Thanks for the img assist! Yes, vert and horizontally true. At this point i'm only really concerned about––and i have no idea if this is just a fiction i've concocted––that each time the gouge is perpendicular to pavement, the tire might compress into the space and will weaken, possibly tear, the sidewall at that point...

My only concern would be cutting an innertube during installation when you forget that it's there. Smooth out the sharp edges and it will be fine.
