Also ... why would you want drop bars on a bike that doesn't have to fight the wind?

For a few bucks extra it can be fitted with a little speaker and synthesized sounds of various carbon wheels ... this'll be out in the 2.0 version where it can also fly.

You must not race. "Train on what you race on" can be helpful, especially for criterium riders who ride the entire way in the drops.

It is interesting.

How many cup holders does it come with?

Instead of the Google maps do you think you could get a DVD player?

The helmet makes me wonder - why don't they install an air bag?

No way! It's remarkable who you bump into on teh webs.

If I lived in wintercrap land, I would definitely look into one of them.

You must not be very handy.
Any hometrainer bike can be modified to have any position on.
I modified my dad's cheapo electromagnetic stationary bike to have a TT-style handlebar.

I'm not that smart, it's just experience. I sell/deliver/install and repair fitness equipment for a living (also a bike mechanic) but I deal with high-end equipment, stuff you see in gyms, hotels and cruise lines. Companies like True, Precor, Vision, Lifefitness and so on are more expensive, sure but they don't sunset parts and support for something after 3 years. Go ahead and buy that Proform spinner but if it breaks in 2 years they will not have parts available. I can still order parts for a True treadmill made 15 years ago. ICON is a company, like Nautilus, that buys the rights to the names of what used to be great brands and then produce garbage under those names until they totally destroy it.

You would be better off with a Tacx Fortius. Here is a review with some youtube video links.

I have the Rock and Roll, Have used it for 4 years now and it is a solid, excellent device. When I ride indoors, which is as rare as I can make it, this has been the best trainer for me. The movement provided by the base allows for the most natural feel inside that one could ask for.

I'd want a power meter on it for that kind of coin.

On an image of a display on their website there's a box labeled "watts" but whether this real or interpolated power, I don't know.

I used a Lifecycle some in hotel "fitness centers" and it was a decent 30 minute work out. This is not a bad price if it delivers a work out like the Lifecycle.

Same here. As long as someone doesn't expect it to be like riding a real bike and is reasonable about what to expect, they won't be disappointed. In fact, the motion on it while standing still has helped me develop my technique. I couldnt' do that on rollers or a stationery bike/trainer. I noticed somethings about how I pedal, my body positions, etc...and have also used it to fine tune-the bike itself.

Not to mention that it's solid. I feel super safe on it and can do a full out sprint on it and hammer away without ever feeling like I'm going to fall or that it will fail me. And on top of that, I have the actual bike underneath me so that learning translates into the real world.

Getting it for $415./shipped in 2 days to NYC also rocked!
