That's cool, thanks for the information!

Not the first time someone here has been able to identify the artist responsible for the street art in one of my snapshots. Does he live in Greenbelt? I spotted the van and Volvo in Hyattsville.

Hyattsville, I think. He had it parked at the Greenbelt Roosevelt Center for a couple of years waiting on an obscure part. I'm glad to see he has it running again.

This isn't from a bike ride, but it is along the way of the bike path that I ride every day. Elitch Gardens amusement park recently opened for the summer, and as I have a season pass, I went there. The observation tower there hasn't been open in years, but the day I went, it was open. I took this picture of Downtown Denver from it.

Sorry no pictures (bummer)
Today I dropped by friend's bike shop and he was working on what I believe is the most beautiful / incredible bikes (works of art) I've ever seen.
A Lynskey PRO29 SL Competition Hardtail. I can't imagine how much this thing was worth, but lets say it had everything going for it, in the department of components. The hottest thing about this bike was that it was filthy dirty, with a bent hanger.

MY hybrid took me to the Library of Congress where I had a bad time. I think I need to write a letter to the head librarian up there. After my problem was resolved unsatisfactorily, I left without my cellphone. I rode to the other side of town before I realized it was gone. Someone found it and I got it back but it took a lot of time finding the lost and found where my phone had been taken. It was in a different building from the one where I was not allowed to deliver a box for the sole reason that I was not using a motor vehicle to transport the box. There are three Library of Congress (LOC) buildings on Capitol Hill.

A picture I took of the LOC Madison Building after it had started to go all wrong, but before I found out how wrong it would get. To get a sense of scale, those are people in the distance.

18mi roundtrip ride on a part of the Highline canal that I've never done before. About 8mi of off-roading. This is my first time doing off-roading on my hybrid. It makes me really want a suspension.

Highline canal in Denver.

I found a bike tunnel on the Highline Canal.

Off road trail. It's very beautiful out here:

Apparently, the telephone poles around here are in an inventory.

Thank you!! It's not actually a fisheye shot, but I took multiple shots with my iPhone, and when I got home, I used photoshop to merge the images together into one large cylindrical panoramic shot. I will upload the full panorama to dropbox and link it here, so that it won't be scaled down.

I thought it was stitched together from multiple images. I was using fisheye more as a descriptive word rather than a technical term. I take a lot of pictures, but remain pretty ignorant about photography. I need to work on that. I had a camera that had a feature that made it easy to stitch pictures together but I only used that feature once and I don't have that camera anymore. I don't think I have the capability to do that anymore.

I thought you had made the edges irregular for effect but in the higher res version it looks like an artifact of the process? In either case, it adds to the picture in my opinion.

It is an artifact of the process.

I edited out the artifact.

I did 75 miles today in the Leinenkugel's Chippewa Valley Century. It took 5 hours and 35 minutes and I took 35 minutes at three rest stops for an average of 15 mph while on the road.

85 miles off-road! Bravo! That there is some hybrid riding, sir. I doubt you'll see many rides like that posted in either the road or mountain forums. What tires did you use? Beautiful trail, nice rest stops, nature conservation, etc. Pristine. Even the dirt looks clean.

Nice one.
It isn't easy to stitch photos together ... I remember that from back in the days when I used to do it with actual photos and sticky tape
Even with photoshop I still find it hard to get the differences in perspective to allign nice enough not to be a problem.
Yours turned out really well.

Thanks, i just use the 700x32 hard case tires that came with my Trek. The trails up here are very smooth so no reason to go wider. Ive got around 1200 miles on them so far, around half on trails and they are holding up great.

My hybrid took me to the Cherry Creek reservoir with my 9th grade class. Very intense hills. There's a hill on the way there that's at least 30% grade. I hit 27mph going down it, easing on the brakes.

Only 100 miles on your stock tires? You rode 175 miles this weekend!

A-Dogg, that's cool. When I was in ninth grade, 1969-70, almost nobody was riding bikes. There was a surge of interest in bicycling a few years later (the early seventies "bike boom"). I bought my first nice bike when I was in twelfth grade.
