Yet another bike is added to the fleet
I didn't need it, I didn't plan on buying a new bike... I went to the fall bicycle blowout sale in Toronto today hoping to get a few new bibs and maybe a new wheelset. I got the new bibs, but when I saw the price on this I knew it was going to be coming home with me.
New (old stock) '09 Colnago CLX Full Campy Centaur 10 with Campy Zonda wheelset. I've never ridden a campy equipped bike and have been interested in giving it a try. My bike guy is coming by today to help with fit and I'll be taking it out for its maiden voyage later this afternoon. I think I'm going to leave this bike pretty much stock except for upgrading the FSA cockpit.

Sweet, us tall guys luck out sometime on big bikes. You might end up regretting the campy when you find yourself ebaying all your shimano stuff in a couple of months.

Ha should've had a bike forums meetup and compare shwag.
What bike did you end up getting beertech?
The bar is going to be pretty high trucker dan. On the bikes that I regularly ride I have Di2 on one and mechanical da 7900 on the other. I'm going to keep an open mind even if it does look vaguely similar to sora shifters.
I think I already know the answer to this question, but my powertap has an ultegra 12/27 cassette. Is there any chance I can use it on this bike?

Very nice!
This is exactly why I didn't go to the bike show
Truth be told I just got a new bike so I'm safe for a while... hopefully.

Looks awesome. I only picked up a set of fenders and some chain lube. There were no nice shoes in my size and all the pedals I wanted can be found cheaper online : (

Thanks for the comments. Congrats on your first road bike beertech.
Interesting, I was reading a review on the bike and it appears that it's not a 2009 as I was told but a 2008. No bother, but it says the MSRP was $5299.99 USD. lol it didn't cost me any even remotely close to that.

Enjoy! That's a gorgeous bike. Let us know how it rides once you get it fit and put some miles on it.

Got fitted up yesterday and took it out for a short ride. He ended up taking almost an inch off the steerer tube and it's pretty comfortable. I have to pickup a 100mm stem next week, the 110mm stem that it came with is a bit too long for me.
I have to admit the bike is smooth really smooth! Not nearly as stiff and punishing as my Gallium Pro or AR4. It absorbed rough roads better than roubaix without being sloppy or lethargic as I felt on the roubaix. The campy group shifted flawlessly and didn't miss a beat on the short ride. My only complaint would be how the paddle works on both shifters. The seems to operate independent of the brake lever... almost like they're floating around. It seems to require a significant amount of pressure to on the thumb shifter to downshift, but I assume this will get easier as the shifters get broken in. I definitely haven't ridden it enough to form a solid opinion other than "it's different"
Below is a pic after the fit. I like the aesthetics of it better without the crazy long steerer tube.

I know I'm probably going to be booed and hissed at, but I really don't like the campagnolo shifters and if left stock it wont be ridden. I'm selling my AR4... too many carbon bikes. So I'm going to transplant the DA 7900 group to the colnago and sell the campy group on the felt. I'm sure post generations on the campy group have improved, but this group doesn't compare to DA and I don't want to drop a bunch of dough on a new generation group only to discover that I don't like it as well.

Not a big Campy guy myself, but you wouldn't expect Campy's 4th level group (if you count SR as a seperate group) to compare favorably with Shimano's top mechanical group.

The seller told me he rides nothing but campy and centaur through record essentially the same group but they get lighter as you go up the chain. True or not, I don't know. I've put about 150 kilomters on this group so far and have missed several down-shifts on the RD. The actuation on the right brifter paddle is sloppy at best and doesn't provide enough feedback. The FD is terrible! I'm used to throwing the break leaver and going to my big ring. With this group fully dialed in, you have to hold the left paddle until the chain is fully on the ring otherwise it falls back to the small ring. Only once have I successfully gone to my big ring without having to hold the paddle for a second. Lastly this bike needs Flintstone backup brakes. Granted this bike is a bit heavier than my other bikes, but the stopping distance is significantly higher than anything I've ever ridden.
