Now for something different. 1985 (best I can tell from serial # 197385) Trek 600 Series with 700c wheels but frame is only 18" (46cm) crank to seat post. Really small bike, I'm only 5'8" with 30" inseam leg length & it's too small for me so it's a little odd to have 700c wheels. All the component group is Shimano 600 hence the name 600 Series. Was a total rust bucket when I got it & still looks rough but rides pretty smooth after rebuilding. I'm thinking worth only $100 to $140 due to condition but would be interested what value would be if all the rust was gone, aluminum polished up good & didn't need repaint. Also if I'm low on my $100 to $140 estimate, or high, like to know that too.
Conditions issues: New handlebar wrap, Bontrager seat because the original white seat had too much rust on the rails. Pedal toe cages were too pitted after removing rust so painted white. Other than that & tires all original just looks 38 years old.

Small frame usually hurts value, unless there happens to be a short rider looking when you post it. And like you said, condition is pretty rough in spots. If it were me, I would address some of those rust spots, and that would bring more $, but also not likely to be worth it from a time investment perspective.

I don't think you're far off on your value though as it sits. Hard to find a nicer bike that is ready to ride for 140 dollars. You could get one from a box store in that price range and the ride experience would be way worse.

I think if I were selling and did the rust cleanup, new cables/housing, new brake hoods (which is all mainly aesthetics). I'd probably start close to 300 in case a shorter rider was looking but then start working my way down and likely end up selling closer to 200 in a few weeks time.

I do better on the small frames. Missing proper lever hoods, and signs of rust, hurt value here.

I flip bikes in this era, I think $100 is appropriate due to the rust issues on the frame. Used market is slow in my area.
