Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm savoring this thread while it lasts. Soon it will be "Happy Holidays Everyone!". Way to screw over that politically correct BS and say it out right.

& to you Ed!.....I've asked santa for some power cranks, sadly the LBS manager has informed me 'on the sly' that he hasn't had an order from the missus for them. I said, "no worries, she's got a birthday coming up soon, order 'em...I know she'll love 'em"......If she doesn't I might know someone who will take them off her hands!

Merry Christmas Ed!

I'm hoping for some parts that are shiny and Japanese...that start with S-H-I-M and end with A-N-O. I have a feeling that my credit card bought them for me!

May santa bring you the grupo you have always dreamed of. May your shifts be smooth and your derailuers unbent. May all the roads in your city be paved with that fresh smooth asphalt (not the rough durable kind). May you be blessed with a ridding partner that looks like a Norweigen fitness model (but her VO2 is the same as yours). May you find an international cornacopia of bike parts under your tree (I do like french wheels). May all of your posts on BF go unflamed. May Euro and Sin City find hapiness on a red tandem Cyfac! And above all Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and may your logs be filled with accident free miles!

I have just taken a break from my last-minute housecleaning in preparation for a swarm of family coming in from Kentucky for Christmas. We are going to have people sleeping on air mattresses and the couch but it is going to be one of the best Christmases ever. By this time next year we will have a grandson celebrating his first Christmas. I expect to fill up a whole pew with family at church tomorrow evening. It's going to be great.

Then, after they are all gone home, the old Paramount will come back out and I will work on getting rid of all this weight I have gained. Fifty flat miles on New Years Day....whoo hoo!

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it. And an early Happy New Years to all far and wide. I have visions of blue and white lugged steel under the tree this year.
