Peugeot pr500 Altus ~1991ish - Info please

Hi,

This is a bike i cannot find any information on. Google gets me only a few french sites with pics of the bike for sale. Its full shimano 105, reynolds 525 and an estimated year 91'. Is this a deal at 100$? I know its not vintage ... but i thought this is the best place to ask.

Thanks for any info.

fellow riders may poke fun at you for the stem, however, if its structurally sound, it would be worth at least $100...

+1 and welcome to the 'black hole' of Peugeot info. 1991-92.

In reality, with Reynolds tubing and full 105, I could sell that bike for $300 all day long in the Tampa market.

Looks like a fantastic bike to me.
You got lucky with the reynolds decal. You could have gotten one that says "megatube"
I've shied away from early 90s Peugs due to confusion mainly.
You certainly got a catch there though.

Nice bike, but that stem has to go. I have a 1993 PE-300, I still need to rebuild it. I have a stem decision to make as well. Keep the quill conversion, or put a quill stem back on it. If I sell it, I will probably just clean up what is already there.

Not much info on that period for Peugeot.

I have a PR500, but outfitted with Campy Victory. Wonderful cycle that's overlooked by all.

PR Altus 500

Had one I bought in 1992 while stationed in Germany. Was a great intro to road riding though the frame was a bit big. Totaled it when I came back to the US while on a training ride for the college team I was on. Lavender color, miss it.
