Cinelli Supercorsa Restoration Project

Hey Y'all,

Looking at at starting my first restoration project on an old Italian-Made Cinelli Supercorsa.

There's some light rust around the rear bracket/drop outs. I'm planning on stripping the rust and repainting.

It's a personal project, not looking to resell.

It comes with Shimano fork, and a 27" wheel set with Campagnolo hubs + tires + and tubes.

200 for the lot...

Is it worth it?

If it is a real Cinelli then $200 is a real steel! However many many companies used Cinelli bottom bracket shells and sellers often assume a frame with such a shell is a Cinelli frame. Also if the fork has Shimano forkends (the part where the wheel attaches) it is either a replacement fork or a very strong indicator this in not a Cinelli. Cinelli bikes/frame are rather popular and command a good price, a DIY refinish may do more harm than good.

Can you get some pics? Any information on the model of Campagnolo?

Unfortunately I cannot post pics until I have 10 posts or more!!

I can't private message either smdh.

The only REAL indication that this is a legit Cinelli, is in fact the bottom bracket which is stamped:

Welcome,
in looking at the photos and in reading the comments on the other thread on this bike, you look to have a neat project on your hands that will be a nice rider when you are finished if you are tall enough for it. And although the identity is still not confirmed , a Cinelli bottom bracket shell is a sign of a quality builder

we as a collective are a rather cheap lot around here, so im glad you didnt pay the $400 the guy had once raised it to, but at $200, you didnt get stung
