Team Fuji, Davenport velosport 84 team

Picked up two fuji's this morning for $20. An 84 Espree and an interesting 84 team. The team has "Velosport Davenport" on the seat stays and S. Martens on the top tube. A quick google leads me to team velosport davenport, and a guy named Jeff Bradley, Member US Olympic Team 1984, owner of a trek store in Davenport Iowa, Current Iowa state road champion. I tried giving him a call but he wasn't in today. I'm hoping to find out who S. Martens is and any other interesting history on the bike.
Suntour superb f/r derailleurs, sugino alp cranks, ngc400 brakes, mavic gp4 and some shimano hubs I haven't identified yet. It's a 56, I sure wish it was a 60 or 63(open to trades).

And the 84 Espree

Check out that headbadge!

Thanks RFC, I wish it was a bit larger as I'm 6'3"! Not sure yet if I'll save the parts and sell the frame or sell it all. It would be nice to find someone to swap frames with(hint hint). The Espree is down to the bare frame now, headset and some parts in the acid bath. Should make some school girl squeal with joy when its all finished.

Forget the badge. Check out that stem!
Its a 90mm technomic, I'll add it to my collection of tall stems

Wow, I rode for Velosport Davenport back in the mid 80's. Jeff indeed owns The Trek Store in Davenport ,Iowa and he is still an animal. Late 40's and still riding 1's 2's pros. I'll add a jersey picture later.

That team fuji frame is really cool! Quad butted valite? Looks like my size too... hmm

And you're just on the other side of the state from me... Wish I had a comparable frame to trade you.

Here's some after pictures of the Espree. I needed the drops for another project and had these MTB bars laying around and since it already had MTB levers on it I figured I might as well.
Rebuilt the headset and BB, new rear derailure, grips, and it already had new tires on it. Had to soak some parts in OA and they came out nice.

Your Team Fuji appears to be an '85. The giveaway is the top-mounted shifters and Flamingo color scheme.

Bikes: Was Fuji and got my grails (Pro, Pro SR, Design Series, & Ti). Now I hunt 50's and older road bikes.

And angled striped decals on the seat tube. That is how I dated my blue 85, which did not have the original brakes.
