Need a commuter bike for to keep in the USA

Hi all,

We travel to Rochester NY 1 or 2 times a year, and I want to have a bike up there. I am 6' 1" in good shape (64 years old), I ride 2 to 3 hours a week. I am looking for something suitable for road / canal trail that I can use when up there. I am not looking for anything super expensive, but I don't want junk either.

Any ideas? I have a place to keep a bike between trips. I love hardtails, 29 inch, but even a cross bike would be fine.

Thanks

in the vintage section you might get more responses.
I’ve got 2 bikes for sale in that section- but with you mentioning 29in as a wheel size I’m inferring you’re after a modern mountain bike.
