It looks like a 54cm to me, and I would second spencewine's guess on the Volpe. While I'm not quite so versed in Bianchi models as other members on this forum, the canti-brakes and the japanese steel (I see a tange infiniti or 900 perhaps? decal on the seat tube), seem to be a dead ringer for the Volpe.

That is a Sizzling Peach '86 Volpe! Great bike for almost anything. The '86 was the first year for the Volpe and the bike that started Bill Graves thinking about a Hybrid. Somewhere in the later '90s early '00s a Bianchi catalog references the Volpe as being the original hybrid.

Thanks for the info everyone. I was wondering what the upper braze on the the seat tube was used for. Never accured to me to be for a strap holder.

The one on the side of the DT too. I think I saw some straps once but didn't know they were for Bianchis. I just noticed your in Camp Hill where did you score this? I check CL quite often and never saw it. It looks bigger because the BB is slightly higher than a road or esp a tourer, according to the catalog this came in 53, 56 or 59 measured C to T.
You need some Celeste fenders. I actually wish my Volpe looked this good, the pic makes the paint look much better than it actually is.

Here is a better pic of the faded color

Is anyone else having trouble with this site or is just me and my computer? I can't seem to use my 'enter' button as a return button for making new paragraphs. I am also having trouble copying and pasting pics (from thread to thread) too.

I've been having lots of problems for quite a while but mainly it's being automatically logged out before I have a chance to complete a post. Then it often takes me several attempts to log back in. I was thinking that maybe it was was my browser set-up but it hasn't affected me on any other forums. It's getting really frustrating. Oh well, I was always planning to retire at 10,000 posts anyways. I quess I can tough it out until the end of the year.
BTW, I concur that it's a 1986 Volpe but take issue with it being the first hybrid. That's just Bianchi marketing spin.

I was only trying to help out someone, and maybe get to ride another bike for awhile. Majority of the bikes I buy end up back ot the CO-OP anyways.
