Found some 1.6mm sheet steel from the black smiths in work and cut and shaped it then welded it the the frame. That's just some foam In the pics that I have stuck on for now, looking for something to finish it off

If this is your first attempt, I think you are doing great...I have made several but not a front wheel drive.

Very nice!

How's riding it?

If you haven't already, take a look at the Cruzbike videos. (You can also read about my experience learning to ride a MBB bike).

Cheers,
Charles

I made one similar to yours with a 26" mountain bike from back to steering tube AND welded a steering tube and fork from a 16" childs bike...used a seat stem welded forward from the steering tube to hold the bottom bracket and then had to run the chain from that to the back wheel...used a plastic kitchen chair as my seat.
I can not find my pic of it.

Keep us updated. I've read about several home-made MBB bikes, many of which are absolutely gorgeous. I'm interested to see how this bike evolves and what your next bike looks like.

Why have you got the forks effectively reversed from their normal direction?

you're ahead of me. i've made a few semi-recumbent cruisers, but i can't quite get the full on recumbent idea to gel for me yet.

Looks like a low-riding FWD. Interesting...

How does it handle?

wow ! a MBB as a first attempt, brave man !
looks really good.... do you think its strong enough ? thats why i went with exhaust pipe, heavier but based on previous experience, better for my needs.
nice build pics too....let us know how it continues to ride eh !

it rides quite well :-) and I have been out a few times on it now and it seems strong nothing has gone wrong. but using exhaust pipe I think is a great idea. i have already been thinking of better ways I could have done little things to make it better during the build that now I am already planning into my next project...........a chopper / low rider bike :-D
