Great 2-man chase, and the rest of that chase group should be re-thinking NOT taking off. It was like "we've decided not to medal." At least in the other events, people give it their all. Hat's off to those who wiped out trying. Nibali was my choice for a while there, Garret Thomas as well.
Nice to see a Belgian win, but despite the excitement, I was rooting for the Pole. He had the guts of Prefontaine, and I'm glad he took bronze. Perhaps we'll see him endorse one of the new Merckx bikes.
I did not like the fans on the course. It's not the Tour, it's the Olympics, and that last crash probably wiped out a pack finish, as well. Relying on motorbikes (that were part of the problem) shows how the coverage affected the competition.
It's the Olympics. There should not be team cars, or radios, either. You freakin' line up and you ride, and either medal or don't.
The women's race should be excellent.

Race was a kilometer too long for Majka.
Not sure I've seen one descent take out so many riders.
Lots of fans all over the road. I guess I should be used that.

I regret that I have but two thumbs to give this comment way way up.
The Tour has become almost tedious to watch because of radios. I can't believe Jens Voigt was one of the proponents of radios, especially since he was one of the dangermen and adventurists who most suffered by the precise calculus of kilometers remaining/minutes ahead of peloton.
If it weren't for the helicopter footage, I'd've stopped watching the Tour decades ago and turned instead to monster trucks, wrestlemania, or recent American politics.
