Nowhere. Bused it to school today, too many textbooks/laptop for one pannier. Other pannier is being repaired. Sigh. Bus wasn't too heinous at least.

Rode about 30 km around the neighborhood today, got inspired by the scenery and stopped to take a photo of my bike:

While I was out I realized how diverse a route that I have -- I ride on pavement, dirt roads, single track trails, marshlands, fields -- it's a very cool place where I live with lots of variety. Got me thinking that it might be cool and interesting if we did some overviews with photos of the places that we all regularly ride. I'll start putting something together tomorrow...

My regular rides are nowhere near as cool as yours.

Just pavement and bike path. Do ride in some pretty neighborhoods and next to rivers and lakes. I could grab some shots of this.

WCoastPeddler, NICE pic! Beautiful surroundings you have, lucky!

My Sirrus took me on a 9.7 mile ride today. Been a few weeks, its been cold and rainy, if not rainy high winds. Today was nice for a change Can't wait till spring to start a more aggressive riding schedule. At the same time, I hope to get in some XC skiing this year, too

+3 Truly beautiful! That reminds me of why I was thinking of moving out their. But the wet and damp everywhere made me deathly ill. Pity.

Yup, that's Mount Baker which is about 50 km SE of where I took the photo from. And yes, unfortunately the haze in front of the mountain is indeed smog.

I'll be glad when things get a bit colder -- the air gets crisp and clear and it makes for some stunning photo opportunities of Mt Baker.

Although not taken while on my bike, here's another photo of Mt Baker that I took on a cold day last November while paddling my kayak on the Fraser River (about 10 km NE from where I took the previous photo):

Having such a large mountain nearby makes for a pretty dramatic background on most days.

From Sherman Oaks to the USC Campus in downtown Los Angeles. 26 miles from door to door, through Burbank, Griffith Park, the LA River bike trail, Chinatown, Downtown Los Angeles, finally cruising down Figueroa past the Staples Center, (home of the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and Kings), to the corner of Vermont and 36th Place. The "scenery" on my ride is quite a bit different than QMSDC's - but interesting in its own way.

Today - as I hobbled out into the garage on my canes - I spied it hanging from the rafters.

It quickly took me for a short ride along the river - it just never came off the hooks.

Soon --------- I hope.

That's a great post, Wanderer. I like what you are saying, but I'm dismayed that you aren't able to ride now. I hope you will be back in the saddle for real, real soon! Get well, rider.

+10 And I hope you've got a good helmet. Bad luck usually comes in threes.

Not fancy. Kodak Easyshare DX4530
But I'm a believer that the eye is more important than the camera. I pick my shots carefully, take time to compose my the views. I also delete more shots than I keep, and only show a few of those.

To MEC and back. Pannier debaucle and some other unpleasant things. However, when I had my bike in the store, some random dude was eyeballing my bike and dare I say, drooling. He asked where I got it so I told him, I also said I had modified it a lot since I got it. In ur face people who deride my "cheap" components etc.

Rode everywhere with a 6 foot BAW in tow... delivered a computer monitor, picked up a stack of bike boxes and brought those to my shop, went for dinner (sans BAW trailer), and then back to my cozy little house.

I'll be doing this all over again tomorrow if the back holds up.

I've never ridden around the entire length before, I walked most of it once. I'm beginning to fear tomorrow won't happen but I may take myself down the Seawall anyway...
