Photos c.2006-09 taken with the $9 Aiptek Pencam (refurbished price!) that was so dearly loved on the old internetbob newslist. First, Hitching Post Road -
Watson Hill Road
Calabash Road
somewhere in south Greenwood County, near Ninety Six
I always loved the funky colors and dodgy focus of these cameras - it was kind of like the digital equivalent of the old Communist bloc cameras of the 50s and 60s.

Ok, this one is a 'cheat'. It is actually someone's driveway on the outskirts of town.
A large ornate iron gate keeps us 'Riff-raff' out but during the fall it is nice to stop by, look and wish that you could ride down that lane..
I wonder what the house looks like?

This is the 1st time I noticed there's an empty road photo thread in both C&V & Road. Gotta say the C&V pics are are awesome, but we have a finer eye for beauty anyway, right
Buddy Ron & I scouting out an unopen stretch of new highway that we'll use while we can for afternoon rides that will soon be starting in darkness. 5th ride on my '86 Bianchi Sport SX, and I have yet to repeat a route.

In March, my spouse and I moved out of our home in Manhattan and into our weekend home in the Hudson Valley. Traffic is very light, and the roads are gorgeous and hilly. I have to try hard to find a bad road to ride on.
The daylight hours are getting short. I did an experiment and headed out for a ride just before sunset on Tuesday. I got back shortly after sunset. I found that I felt safe, a pleasant surprise. I used lots of lighting and a rear view mirror. I check my mirror every few seconds.
