Racing Sat/Sun

How do you guys who race back to back days keep your legs in shape (besides just having a REALLY good engine).

First things first, it's my first year riding more than just to the convenience store and back, so occasionally i have been learning things the hard way

I am doing my first tri saturday, and there is a cross double header sat night/sunday. I think i will just watch saturday night, and race on sunday (in the C's). Should i seek out a hot tub? spin on the trainer in the evening? Or just HTFU, and drink beer saturday night and have an eye opener sunday morning?

It had crossed my mind to do all 3 races, but i think that's a bit much for my first cross season

i don't do tri's or cross, but from my limited experience, after your last race on saturday (i'd bet you want to skip the cross race), do a realllly easy spin for a couple minutes. at night, put your feet up and don't do too much. stretch a little. have a beer or three if you want. you probably wont notice the difference.

basically, dont use your legs too much.

have a glass of water for every beer you drink. then, drink more water.

if you or your team has access to novatech space legs, that's the way to go

short of that, get "the stick" & massage while having your leg above your torso (say, prop them on the wall). this will allow more metabolites to drain

An ice bath will do more good than a hot tub FYI..... Other than that just get in better shape and train your body to go hard for blocks of 2-3 days straight during the off-season.
