Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yeah, but any more stuff would've been dicy (for my bike and my legs) on the route I took.

Is the pac bag really that much better than a Chrome to warrant spending around $400 for one? I'm considering upgrading.

I've owned the Chrome Kremlin and while it was an awesome bag, it really can't compare to the PAC. The strapping system is really what puts the PAC miles ahead of the Chrome because of the extreme degree of adjust ability and it really makes a difference when you are carrying large objects. What is great is how you can "separate" the load away from your back making the load a lot more comfortable. The compression straps work wonders to keep the bag thin when it's not loaded. The X-strap is SOOOO useful as well when you are carrying heavy or large objects, keeping things very stable.

Check out the little review I made of it when I 1st got it:
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...512&highlight=

Here's a reel of the many things I've done with the bag:

Holy crap! I only occasionally carry large loads in my chrome [last thing I carried was a dj mixer]

Where can you buy those extender straps? I really need those.

I got them from the PAC website. I don't know if they feature the same buckles as the Chrome though

Chrome probably won't make them for me since they are too large of a company for custom stuff.

I find my chrome is too wide and not deep enough.

This thread rules. I don't do much transporting of large items, just stuff that will fit in my metropolis. I think the most I've gotten in there was a few textbooks, change of clothes and a 2 cases of beer.

What individual needs that many bulk sundries in one haul? I'm content buying the 4 pack of toilet paper and stretching it for two weeks between my roommate and I. Bottled water isn't even a consideration as the water coming out of the tap isn't brown and/or hazardous. And a mega pack of Red Bull at ~$1.50 a can? Money bags!

But at that volume they're only $1.45 a can. Not all of us can afford to pass up those bulk savings, money bags!!!

they were for my dad. I hate Red Bull and the very idea of it. It's a shame so many are hooked on it. Also in the long run of things you save $ when you buy in bulk
