Sacrificial anodes are an interesting topic. Of course , just like with water heaters, once the sacrificial anode has been totally eaten, you are no longer protected.
When you use something with no anode, you are immediately not protected.

So the worst that happens when the anode is eaten is that you have "ceramic" zinc oxide antiseize. It is still grease with fine particulate in it. So it isn't really a bad thing.


But "yes", the copper stuff is just fine.
