Current project: Gazelle A-Frame

The latest project from this corner of the world is a '77 Gazelle Champion Mondial A-Frame picked up from Chrome Molly. I've been slowly gathering pieces and ideas. As received in the mail:

I got headset bearing races installed today. Planning to use a set of 1st gen Cyclone derailleurs w/ black bodies, shiny chrome 105 brakes, MKS (I think they are) pedals, Sugino RT triple crank (unless I decided otherwise). Have two choices for SR stem, need to find a 25.4mm SR Custom handlebar.

Been thinking about wheels. The rear is 120mm, not a problem. I just discovered in the basement a pair of Mavic Open 4 CD rims. I have absolutely no idea where they came from. A nice set of dark-anodized clincher rims would be ideal, would match the decals on the burnt-orange frame. Sometimes good thing just drop into place. Of course I have to build them onto hubs, but I have a few thoughts on that too.

Details as they develop...

That’s a beautiful red frameset, and YES, the anticipation is killing me. This makes me want another Italian bike project.

Thank you. It is actually a slightly reddish burnt orange, and I have @gomango and @sloar to thank for it.

I’m eager to see what you do with it! I never seriously considered buying this frameset when it was for sale, but I clicked on the thread an awful lot...

Very nice frame. Should make for a nice ride when it is done.
I'm sure you are aware of the Gazelle Mondial archives?
