25mm tires are faster than 23's. Oh and if you still inflate your tires to 110psi you are ancient and brutish.

It was a tumultuous time for our nation. The clear beverage craze gave us all a reason to live. The information superhighway showed the average person what some nerd thinks about Star Trek. And the domestication of the dog continued unabated.

Heavy is the new light when it comes to wheels and tires.

And that noise in your BB is little men playing nine pins.

People have come and gone.

Bikes have remained.

The Ironman has gained in popularity and price (a bit).

It's gotten warmer. Beachfront property used to be second row.

Gas is cheaper. Modern bikes are better.

Steel is boutique.

I'm glad you're back.

That's about it.

Society? well, this is refuge.

The good French components have gone through the roof, price-wise.....
Thanks to some sellers at eBay suddenly pricing them over three to four times what they were selling for, just a five years ago.....
The myths about how fragile bonded frame bikes supposedly are, stubbornly persists to this day.....

Relative newcomer here but, how about Shimano 600 still functions well, but it's place on a high-end CV Italian bike, is usually met these days, with a luke warm reception.

I guess it sold pretty high, but such is my opinion on this one.

Fatter tires are in again. Fatter as in 25 or 28 cc vs 23cc.

...it was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.

To sum up, Grant Petersen waxed my bent fork, which was actually a canvas rain cape, with wider tyres and chain lube, but he was a 60-year-old Japanese barn find, barn fresh, hand crafting a custom retrofit for my Simplex derailleur hanger. How he got that Swiss-threaded freewheel to fit his Brooks Swift, I cannot say. I cannot. Marinoni days and Sun Tour nights. Lake Pepin three and SA S5.

You're now supposed to put just enough air in your tires to avoid pinch flats. It's faster, they say.

Fix-a-Flat for bikes? I don't think this was available 6 years ago. I haven't tried it, but am thinking of getting a couple tubes. I do like the Continental Tire company in general, so thinking they would most likely put out a quality product.

Of course it's faster. You spend less time pumping air.
